Imagine a fashionista that is a bit funky, very cool, and loves an eclectic space. This is the dorm life of a girl that prefers to live alone, loves vibrant colors, patterns, and textures, and likes to stay organized in the chaotic world of college.
This dorm space may be a little bit funky, eclectic, and full of personality but it does not lack the required function. Creative storage, additional seating, and flexible pieces provide the home away from home this college student needs.

I love that others are using IKEA to showcase functional furniture that offers storage as well on a college budget! Great color and hitting the key elements of functionality right off the bat!
Thank you Kate. IKEA is a go-to site when a budget is a priority. There are a few higher items to balance this stylish gals space!
Your design is like eye candy! I love the colors and the wall mirror! Beautiful design. It is functional and stylish
Thank you Matthew! It actually may be a bit over-stimulating but funky fun is just that!
Love the bright colors and the pillows! I used one of the same pillows in my design! Great minds think alike!
So true! Yes, this student loves color and mixes all styles together. Thank you Selma.
Loving the cool white furniture and the popping accessories- by senior year you can switch it around if you’d like! I am definitely getting that green pouf for my son! Happy Olio-Hopping!

The knit pouffs, pillows… are a big Fall trend too. Yes, this room is full of pop! Thank you Joanne.
Why thank you for the mention in your post, your college girl and I have a lot in common : )
I love eclectic space as they often best refelect my stlye sense.
Great Post!!
Nice blogging with you Julie!xo
You’re too funny– you’re welcome! It’s always a pleasure- happy sharing.
Hey Julie!
You know me, I love your bright colors and I think they can cheer a student up who might feel just a little homesick on their first days away at school.
I like the desk you chose, too, because of that inside storage. That’s a good idea for students needing to make good use of every last inch!
Thanks for participating in another OlioHop, Julie. Everyone at Olioboard, my client, really appreciates it and the time you put into helping to keep things hopping with all of these other wonderful women and men.
#OlioLove!
Leslie (@tkpleslie)
That is very kind of you Leslie. I enjoy doing these and have more to work on this week for my E-Design contest winner. It’s a great network of bloggers that design!
I love the pops of color and the funky feel for this dorm room~ #oliolove it! xo
Thank you so much for stopping by Olivia. You’re always very supportive!
Julie, I thought I commented yesterday but came back today to check. I know I looked at your design because we both used the words Relax in our designs. I really like the way you used pieces that could be used as storage and as furniture which is so important when you are on a budget and have a small space to work with. I also like the clean and uncluttered look of your design. Great job. I really like your blog too and how easy it is to navigate.
Hi Charisse,
Thank you for commenting and your kind words. So glad you joined the #oliohop!
